Homework
Homework is an integral part of the learning process at GACA and is
given daily. Our teachers give homework intended to prepare for learning
and/or to reinforce classroom learning.
It is very important that assignments are completed on time.
Completion of homework assignments is part of the on-going
assessment process.
Grading
Student performance is evaluated at GACA throughout the school year and grade reports are prepared and distributed shortly after the end of every nine-week quarter. Progress is measured objectively and subjectively. Mid-way between each marking period, a report is sent to parents of those students having academic problems.
Teachers at GACA use a traditional grading scale for students in grades
one through twelve.
A=93-100
B=87-92
C=78-86
D=70-77
F= 69 and below
Kindergarten students receive a written progress report on what the
child has accomplished during the quarter. In the elementary grades the
following scale is used for art, physical education, penmanship and
music:
E=Excellent
G=Good
S=Satisfactory
U=Unsatisfactory
Honor Roll
Students obtaining the following averages will be placed on the
appropriate Honor Roll:
