The students of GACA must wear a school uniform.  This is done to promote modesty in dress and to help provide a positive atmosphere for learning.  The school uniform may be purchased at stores such as Target, WalMart, J.C. Penney, etc. provided the following guidelines are met.

GIRLS

Jumpers and Skirts:

GACA plaid, solid navy blue for jumpers and GACA plaid,
navy blue or khaki skirts that must be loose fitting and
come to the knee when standing or sitting.

Tops:

• Long or short sleeves white dress blouse w/collar.

• Polo shirts and turtle necks - solid red, white or navy blue.

• Sweater - Navy blue or white cardigan pullovers.  (Not form fitting and shirt with a fold down collar must be worn underneath.)

• Navy blue sweatshirt with school monogramming (a shirt with a fold down collar must be worn underneath).  GACA athletic team hooded sweatshirts are permissible.

Pants:

• Navy blue or khaki dress slacks (no denim, corduroy, stretch leggings or stir-ups) and may be worn not more than 2" below the waist provided shirts are long enough to cover the midriff.

• Cargo pants and other slacks/shorts that have pockets sewn on the outside of the pant legs are not permitted.

• Navy blue or khaki shorts may be worn during August, September, May, and June and must be within 2" of the top of the knee.

BOYS

Shirts:

• Long or short sleeve white dress shirt (ties are permitted).

• Polo shirts and turtlenecks - solid red, white or navy blue.

• Sweater - Navy blue or white cardigan or pullovers.  (Not form fitting and shirt with a fold down collar must be worn underneath.)

• Navy blue sweatshirt with school monogramming (a shirt with a fold down collar must be worn underneath).  GACA athletic team hooded sweatshirts are permissible.

Pants:

• Navy blue or khaki dress slacks (no denim or corduroy) must be worn at waist.

• Cargo pants and other slacks/shorts that have pockets sewn on the outside of the pant legs are not permitted.

• Navy blue or khaki shorts may be worn during August, September, May, and June and must be within 2" of the top of the knee.

General:

• Shoes, sandals or sneakers in good repair must be worn with socks at all times.

• Must be clean-shaven; No earrings permitted.

• Hairstyles are to be neat with no shaved designs or unusual colors.  Hair must be cut above the eyebrows, ears, and collar.

• Undershirts:  White, grey, and colored undershirts that match the color of the uniform shirt being worn are permitted.  Undershirt sleeves are not to be visible.

ALL STUDENTS - The following are NOT permitted:

Skorts; faded materials; pants with sewn on leg pockets or rivets; bandanas; scarves, Spandex; slogans on shirts (small brand names or symbols are permitted); coats in classes (except by special permission in a a cold classroom); shirts, sweaters, or pants with fleece lining; tank tops, visible tattoos or visible body piercings, tight fitting clothing, zip-off pant legs.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION: All students in grades 7-12 will be required to wear a gym uniform.

If a student comes to school out of dress code, he/she will be sent to the office until a parent or relative arrives with dress code clothing for them.

The administration reserves the right to interpret what constitutes proper dress in cases not specifically covered by the code.

Dress Down Days are often earned or observed.  The clothing must be modest, no torn, tight or ill-fitting clothing is permitted.  Nov cleavage, midriff, or torso is to be exposed.
